A new study coming out of Washing VA Medical Center has found a causal link that brisk walking can lower the risk of developing dementia and Alzheimer’s by as much as a third. 

Previous studies have shown that people with slower walking speeds have an increased risk of dementia. The latest research shows that regular fitness routines during middle age help to keep the brain in good working order. 

The lead author of the study, Dr. Edward Zamrini said that a 15-minute brisk walk every day is enough to improve your fitness levels. Physical exercise has been proven countless times to be among the best preventative measures against Alzheimer’s. 

How to start a brisk walking program
